International Programs

International outreach, worldwide partnerships, and the exchange of information and education are vital to the Academy and its Foundation.

Global Ground Rounds

The AAO-HNSF Global Grand Rounds series is an initiative of the Academy’s International Advisory Board (IAB) to improve care of patients and physician education around the globe. It is a virtual event, held quarterly, that is open to all otolaryngologists around the world at no cost. Moderated by IAB leaders, each session includes world thought leaders and expert panel presentations followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.  Click here for more information.

NEW: Eugene N. Myers, MD Global Education Fund

The AAO-HNSF is proud to announce the launch of the Eugene N. Myers, MD Global Education Fund to benefit the continuing education needs of otolaryngologists practicing in low-income countries, who have limited or no access to otolaryngology professional development resources. This new fund honors Dr. Myers decades-long dedication to advancing otolaryngology and patient care worldwide.

International Grants, Scholarships, and Awards

The AAO-HNSF offers a variety of grants and scholarships to aid and encourage those who further the mission of otolaryngologists on an international scale including International Visiting Scholarships (IVS), AAO-HNSF Nikhil J. Bhatt, MD International Awards, and International Travel Grants.

International Advisory Board (IAB)

The International Advisory Board (IAB) is made up of global otolaryngology-head and neck surgery societies from the Academy’s International Corresponding Societies (ICS) affiliated network, which has over 75 global ENT societies.

International Corresponding Societies (ICS)

International Corresponding Societies affiliate with the Academy on a peer-to-peer level. ICS leaders meet informally with Academy leaders for discussions on issues of mutual interest. Starting with the Spanish Society of ORL-HNS in 1997, the number of societies has grown to 75.

International Joint Meetings

One important way the AAO-HNSF builds relationships worldwide is through International Joint Meetings, i.e., conferences or meetings jointly organized or endorsed by the AAO-HNSF and a counterpart otolaryngology entity, including our ICS network. The Academy maintains a Joint Meeting Calendar that is updated regularly.  We are now accepting applications for Joint Meeting Volunteer Faculty to present at AAO-HNSF International Joint Meetings in 2023-2024.
