The AAO-HNSF 2024 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO will feature another round of innovative programming and dynamic events based on attendees’ feedback. Below is a list of new additions and enhanced offerings, many of which focus on bringing together the community for important discussions.
Crucial Conversations
Launched in 2023 with an inaugural panel organized by Past President Albert L. Merati, MD, Crucial Conversations provides a platform to discuss the multiple viewpoints and responsibilities involved in selecting and training the future otolaryngology workforce. The conversation will continue at this year’s Annual Meeting with a specific emphasis on how these training decisions will impact our ability to provide equitable care across our communities in the future.

New Tracks! Care Equity, Quality, and Safety and Artificial Intelligence
There has been increased literature of observational studies showing care inequity, but no matter how much the science of otolaryngology is driven forward, it’s not getting to patients in every setting as well as it should. The new Care Equity, Quality, and Safety track will seek to start pushing the needle forward on sharing solutions that work locally across the country with our national community.
With the continued advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), there will be an AI mini track at this year’s Annual Meeting as well to address the potential ways AI will impact the field of otolaryngology. There will be four panel discussions about the different aspects of AI, as well as a dedicated scientific oral hour with 10 AI-relevant scientific oral presentations.
